User profile folder names.

I'm curious about the way XP generates user profile folder names.
I have 4 machines all running XP Pro SP2. One machine has 512 Mb of RAM and
a 3.0 gHz Intel CPU. and 2 hard drive for a total of 180 Gb of storage.
So I'm sort of using it as a "server"
I've defined 6 users with roaming profiles. I've also edited the registry so
the
"Documents and Settings" folder resides in another partition.

everything works okay, but I've noticed that XP has generated the following
folders on my "G" drive. To Wit:
Folder Name: Tony
Tony.RICHKIDS01
Jean
Jean.RICHKIDS01
Pat
Pat.RICHKIDS01
Now RICHKIDS01 is the name of the workstation (my so-called "server")
I've defined the roaming profiles to.
Does anyone have an idea as to why XP works this way?

One is the regular "local" account. The other is the local copy of the
domain/server account for each roaming profile.
