User names

I've a new Toshiba laptop. Whoever set it up installed a user named "user".
The profile files are in C:\documents etc.\user.

I changed the name to Andrew (me!) and can use this, but on first startup if
I've logged on last the user name on the log in dialog is "User", not
"Andrew". Can I change this. I'd install a new user with the right name,
but I've installed stuff already.

Have you tried removing "user" from your user accounts?

What I'd do, is set up a new administrator account with the name 'Andrew'.
Then transfer rights over to this new account. Then delete the 'User'
account.

User isn't there. I renamed it andrew using the control panel applet. But
the name keeps coming back in the initial logon dialog - I use the W2000
style login.
