User Name

Apologies if this is the wrong forum ( if so where do I need to be ?) ,

I have just purchased a new laptop and the sop set up the installation and
set the registered user as John ( for example ) and it should read BOB, can
I change it without having to restore the whole computer back to square one
?

OTOH, if you're referring to the User account name, you can rename it via
Control Panel, User accounts applet.
