User logon name missing

User unable to logon to a Windows XP Home machine because the machine boots
into the welcome screen but doesn't show any user name to "click and logon".
can somebody please help to resolve this issue.
Information about machine:
Machine was completely re formatted 3 times and fresh installation of
windows XP
Home edition updated with SP2 and latest updates.

Any ideas?

Well, I would boot the computer into safe mode:

The administrator account will show up and you'll be able to at least look
at the users that should be appearing.

I have tried that to no avail. I have no assigned "accounts" on this computer.
I have re-formatted this harddrive three times since installing XP Home in
January '06.
WHAT A PAIN!!!!!!!!!!
