user login screen

I am having a problem with Windows Xp Professional.
After a period of about 8 or 9 minutes, if the computer
is not touched the screen saver will kick in. When I
move the mouse the screen saver goes away but I am not in
windows any more I am at the user login screen and I have
to put in my password to login again. Any idea what is
causing this? I have two computers networked together,
the one that is being used as the server is the one with
the problem the other one works fine and has no
problems. Any help or ideas would be greatful. I looked
on the Microsoft support page but I could not find
anything.
 
On the screen saver page uncheck the box that says "on resume, password
protect"
