User Level Security

I created user level security levels for a particular database and now find
that Access is applying these setting for all other databases. Any ideas why
it's doing this?

Actually, it isn't applying any security settings to the other databases. It
is merely asking you to log in to a workgroup information file -- the one
you used in securing the specific database. What you need to do is:

1. Create a shortcut for opening the database you want secured. The general
syntax for that is: "FullPathToMSAccess.exe" "FullPathToYourDatabase.mdb"
/wrkgrp "FullPathToSecure.mdw"

2. Use the workgroup administrator to join your PC to the default
system.mdw file that shipped with Access.
