Hello, I have a homemade computer with a 1.3 GHz (AMD) processor , 256 mb
RAM and running Win XP Professional. I have 3 users registered on it
besides the administrator. "ME", "WIFE" and "KID". ME & KID seldom have
any problems. However, WIFE's profile is constantly coming up missing. I
can't tell you it happens specifically when I do "this" or "that". It just
seems to happen when it wants to. Sometimes off a fresh boot, sometimes
when changing profiles. A message comes up that says, "USER ENVIRONMENT:
Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary
profile. Changes you make....." then it disappeared. It logs on like its
the first logon. I can reboot and the "wife" profile will be back. A few
other things of note: ME & Wife are administrators, kid has limited rights.
Something else odd. When I open windows explorer, in the file tree I can
see my documents, kids documents, and shared documents but not wife's
documents. They're there, under documents & settings / wife / my documents
but they don't come up under the main tree like the others. Anyway, can
anyone tell me why this happens and how to stop it? Thanks,
Kenny

Thank you for the reply. Are "we can't load your profile because we can't
find it" and "we can't load your profile because it's broke" synonymous
messages then? I didn't see that in the KB article.
