User Add Name to Drop-Down List

Hello;

I would like to have drop-down lists in different columns on my
worksheet - and I have been able to set up dynamic lists with ease
(thanks to reading what others in this group have done). My question
is - I would like the user to be able to easily add another item to
the drop-down list, and I would like that item to remain on the list
for future use. For example, using school names, the list I provide
could be;

Northside School
Southside School
Eastside School

Now, suddenly, unknown to me the city builds another school - call it
SouthSide School. I would like the user to be able to easily add that
to the drop-down list, not only for their own use (I know how to
remove the error message and allow that for a one-time use, but it
then is no longer on the list...), but also have the new SouthSide
School remain on the list for future use. Is that possible?

I am very willing to go to VBA and forms if that is the best solution,
but I have never set up a drop-down list on a form (there is always a
first time). I need some guidance in how to get there from here.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Try the DV0038 - Flexible Item List file,
available at Debra Dalgleish's website:
http://www.contextures.com/excelfiles.html#DataVal

It allows you to use the existing list
or add items to the list simply by entering
them via the Data Validation.

Is that something you can work with?
Post back if you have more questions.
