for some reason the Advanced tab is not present in XPp
User Accounts. there are no tabs at all. I need to
setup an auto-login. any suggestions?

XP Home, right?

Try this:
Start | Run | Type or paste: control userpasswords2 | OK |
UNCheck: Users must enter a a user name..... | Apply | OK

actually it's XP PRO i'm using but the control
userpasswords2 command did bring up the user accounts app
i'm used to working with in 2k. THANKS WES you genius
