USER ACCOUNTS QUESTION

J

JER

I noticed recently after a fresh re-install of xp, that under user accounts
.... an account with the name "Asp.net Machine A...'s account" has shown up.
I did not purposely set this up. Can any one shed some light here? I did
install .net Framework 1.1 recently. Would that have caused this account to
have been setup? Can I delete this account without difficulty resulting?
With great appreciation.

That introduces this account, for its own needs (I am not clear on why).

Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from (if you have installed XP
SP1)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

If you have not installed SP1, the earlier version can be found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

On its Logon page, uncheck the box 'Show ASPNET on Welcome screen'
and click Apply
