user accounts problem

Have had three user accounts with Windows XP Home for about two years with
no problem. Each user could be logged on at the same time and switch back
and forth using fast user switching. Now only two accounts can be active at
one time and someone must log off for the third person to log on. Try to
access the third account and nothing happens. A little annoying. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.
Computer has 40 gig HD with half full. Also 512 megs of ram.
 
As a follow up to my original post- I followed the link posted in an earlier
message and on that advice changed "fast user switching" and "terminal
services" to automatic in the services menu and restarted but it did not
help.
