WXP Pro SP2 Desktop & Laptop Networked - I've just discovered a new entry in
User Accounts: ASP .NET Machine. I've Googled this but don't understand
anything I read except I got the opinion that many that actually know what
it's for, have encountered problems. It seems it's used for writing programs
which I don't.

I formatted a cple weeks ago but it wasn't on my previous install. Other
than a new Siemens Speadstream Wireless Router (from my ISP) I haven't
installed anything different.
No one I know using WXP Pro, Wireless Networked computers, has this entry
so why would I inherit i? Can someone explain the reason I have it? Can it
be safely removed and if so, how?
Thx for any comments or suggestions.

Will, that site u referred me to answered all my questions in an
understandable way. Thank you VERY much for taking time out and steering me
to it. .
I searched and read extensively but failed to understand what it was used
for nor how it could relate to me. I now know why. I'm a Single User, No
Passwords, not on a Server and I don't write programs!
Geez it's unbelievable how these quirky things land on my computer vs no one
else.

I clicked on the picture and a Menu appeared containing a "Delete" entry.
I didn't Delete it - prefering instead to check with you first. I'm assuming
it must be OK to Delete or the feature wouldn't be there. What do u think?
Should I go for it? Have u ever Deleted this Acct? Were there any
repercussions? It must be OK ... I'm such a Chicken! OK I'll do it!

Hi

I tend to leave the Account where it is. It doesn't get in the way here.

Oh I didn't even suspect that you might have this acct too. Too bad, had I
known I might have left mine alone too. Mine is now gone and my User Acct
Window looks better without it. I was rather leery if something went wrong
with it, I wouldn't have any idea what to do to fix it if I even knew what
had gone wrong. Likely it wouldn't have done any damage but ... with it gone
I KNOW it won't. Simple analysis but one less thing to be aware of.
Now hopefully a highly respected MVP doesn't come along and tell me I
shouldn't have deleted it. LOL
I REALLY appreciate your help Will. Thx so much. I'd be lost without this
Board and the helpful contributors.

Hi

There's no harm in deleting it. I have done in the past, but it doesn't
appear on all of the machines here.

Oh Great! I didn't see YOUR MVP designation until just now! I now feel
confident about deleting it - had it been a bad idea you would have warned
me prior to referring me to that Site. You fellows sure do an excellent
job of advising Novices like myself.
