Used Harddrive Space Doesnt Match Size Of Files

In my computer C drive shows 58gb as being used when i have nowhere near that
much stuff on the drive, and if i select every file and folder, including
hidden files and folders n what not it comes to a total of around 27gb. Any
ideas where the rest of my harddrive space is?

space is being used:

thanks, i found out where its all going its in system volume information and
users folder which is leftover from when i downgraded from vista beta, that
folders really annoying coz its a clone of documents and settings and adds an
extra 11gb of data to my drive
