use win95-98 apps on win2000? how?

A question.
Can i use old windows 98 programs on windows 2000 or XP?
Do i need a patch? Should i reconfig? Any help would be
grand!
 
IN XP you can run them with compadability mode. right
click the executble and go to properites, then
compadability.
