My computer have Partition C and D. Partition C is almost out of space. It
ask me to clean up whenever I am goint to install new program. How can I put
drive C and D together( because I have alot of space in drive D)to have more
space for installing more programs? Thank you very much

Use drive C for your OS (Operating System - WindowsXP) and all the
system files. Use your drive D for documents, music (MP3s) and photos
like JPG files. Do a diskcleanup of drive C by cleaning the Temp files, and
Cookies. If you have photos and music on C drive copy&paste them or
drag&drop them to the D drive using Windows Explorer. Make sure they
are there and the music plays before deleting any files. Run Disk Cleanup.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup
There are many more places to clean, but this will give you a start.
You'll need a 3rd party partition manager to merge C and D together.

If you want to merge C and D you will need to either repartition the drive
which will cause you to lose all the data on both partitions, then
repartition to one partition that encompasses the entire drive and do a
fresh install of XP and all your programs or purchase a third party
application like Acronis DiskDirector which will enable you to do the merge
without going to the hassle of reinstalling everything. With Acronis
DiskDirector you do not need to do a full merge of the 2 partitions. It will
let you allocate some of the space from D and add it to C without data loss.
In my opinion, and having used most repartitioning tools, I find Acronis
DiskDirector to be the most reliable and easiest to use program there is for
doing partitioning work.

In either event you will need to backup all important data to a safe
location first.

Unfortunately, no version of Windows provides any way of changing the
existing partition structure of the drive nondestructively. The only way to
do what you want is with third-party software. Partition Magic is the
best-known such program, but there are freeware/shareware alternatives. One
such program is BootIt Next Generation. It's shareware, but comes with a
free 30-day trial, so you should be able to do what you want within that 30
days. I haven't used it myself (because I've never needed to use *any* such
program), but it comes highly recommended by several other MVPs here.

Whatever software you use, make sure you have a good backup before
beginning. Although there's no reason to expect a problem, things *can* go
wrong.

If this is a preinstalled system, your restore files may be
on this partition. If this is the case this partition should be
read only and hidden.
If this is not the case than this is just one of the problems
associated with these ludicrous partitioning schemes.
The answer is evident.
