I don't have Vista (still using XP), but I presume it has the equivalent of
the XP "Users" feature. My question has to do with what effect, if any,
does the User feature have on software programs. For example, let's say I
have 2 users, both with MS Word. User #1 has Word set up with large icons,
while user #2 is set up for small icons. Will changing users reflect this
difference when each opens their copy of Word?

Thx

hmm im not sure about office...

but many applications retain settings for each user seperatly IF the program
is designed that way.

A good example of this is winamp that even asks you what you want to do..
1) common settings for all users or 2) seperate settings

This depends on the specific application.... so there is no one answer for
all apps.

All custom settings are preserved for each user, files created by each are
not shared.

Admin however, has access to all files of users.

e.g. you configure your desktop to Windows Classic, User 2 uses XP. It
will retain those settings for both users.
