Use of 'Users' in Vista

I don't have Vista (still using XP), but I presume it has the equivalent of
the XP "Users" feature. My question has to do with what effect, if any,
does the User feature have on software programs. For example, let's say I
have 2 users, both with MS Word. User #1 has Word set up with large icons,
while user #2 is set up for small icons. Will changing users reflect this
difference when each opens their copy of Word?
