Use first clip as introductory video

I have a mpeg video slide in the presentation of PPT 2003 & 2007. When I
insert the video into the slide, sometimes, it shows the first photo on the
top but sometimes just show black box. I like to have the first photo in
the box of the slide rather a black box. Can it be controllable and how?

Thanks,

Scott

The placeholder for a movie is the first frame of the movie. So if the first
frame is black you get a black box... Generally I use a screen capture app
(SnagIt) to make an image of the frame I want, then insert the movie and
finally insert the image. Then position and size image and movie to match. A
movie always plays on top, so when the movie begins it will cover the image.

I did a 3 part mini tutorial on ThePowerPoint blog on this concept. Here is
a link to the first post (others are days immediately following):

Does the same video sometimes show a photo and sometimes a black box? Or are
these different videos? Some videos are created with black frames at the
start and some are not. You cannot alter the videos in PowerPoint.

Best regards,
Ute
