Use confirmation field as search criteria?

I am using FrontPage 2003. I have a survey form where the respondent chooses
their name from a drop down list. The list is generated from a database; an
ID is saved and the name is displayed. In the confirmation form, I want to
thank the respondent by name, but the confirmation field shows the ID. I
don't want to save the name, as I use that ID to track things that the
respondent does not enter on the survey. How do I use a confirmation field to
look up a value in a database?

Set the name to be also entered in a hidden form field, then on the confirmation display it. This
may require you to learn to hand code if you are using the DRW and can't get it to work. I do not
use the DRW.
