Use a Fixative on Printed Photos?

I printed some photos using my HP printer onto HP glossy photo paper. I will
frame them - some under the glass in the frames and some without the glass
(due to reflections.)

Should I spray them with a fixative? Is there a brand or a type that you can
recommend?

Thanks, Carol

The answer is no if under glass.
If not under glass, HP glossy has a good reputation for longevity (so does
Epson but not Canon). But so what? Just print it again when it fades. No big
deal. Easier than messing around with fixative. If you want to try a
fixative, go the hardware store and purchase a small can of liquid
polyurethane clear satin finish (Minwax, Deft, etc. brand) and a cheap foam
brush. Let your pictures dry for three or four days and then apply a very
thin coat of polyurethane on top. Easy, cheap, just change the brush the
next time you want to fix more photos.
