hello..i have a packardbell/win xp.512ram/2.2ghz.first
off i have not installed the xpsp1.the updates cause
problems for my pc.i fitted a belkin usb2 card, prior to
this i installed the hotfix q312370 which i downloaded
from the packardbell web site, because it stated this was
the usb2 driver which comes with the sp.i naturally
assumed this would drive the usb2 card.i was wrong.up
popped the install wizard requesting the belkin
drivers,these were installed.when i accessed device
manager i had a second universal serial bus
controller, when opened it stated belkin high speed usb2
and underneath usb2 root hub.it seemed it was installed
correctly ,except my usb2 card reader would only work on
the standard usb ports.all my other usb1 devices would
work on the new usb2 ports ok.so my question did i have
usb2 running or is there an issue with what i did.please
any assistance appreciated.thanks for your time mike

The key to the USB2.0 problem is SP1 and to NOT install anything Belkin gave
you on the disc you may have gotten with the PCI card. I have a Belkin card
and it works fine. Go into Control panel and look at System hardware. Listed
under USB should be at least 1 'enhanced usb controller' That is the the key
to whether your USB2 will work.
