usb to parallel port adapter

Will Renkel

I have a Dell Optiplex without a usb port running W2K Pro
I got a printer free but its interface is usb.
I see there are usb to parallel adapters
but they all talk about parallel port of printer to usb on computer.
Will it work in the other direction?
Parallel port on computer to usb port on printer?

Thanx in advance for an and all info.

I considered the card option
but I am not sure yet I have room.
That would be the best though.

How about a print server on the network? Most of the new ones have
usb interfaces instead of parallel.
