Hello. Whenever I startup windows XP, none of my USB
devices are recognised and it takes about 90 secs longer
to boot up than when no USB devices are plugged in. Once
windows has booted up, i can then plug the devices in and
they work perfectly. Does anyone know how to fix this ? I
have checked my BIOS settings and all USB ports are
enabled and I have also tried updating/installing my
drivers for the USB ports to no avail. Its really
annoying having to pull all the cables out before i
startup and then put them back in again. Many thanks for
any help...Tom.

What kind of device are you using?

I have plenty of USB devices on my system. I have an
iPod, Lexar Jumpdrive, and many more. The only problem I
am having with is my USB Hard Drive. When I boot up with
it connected everything runs fine, no speed lost, until I
log in windows then my computer crashes.

The only way I can get my USB Hard drive to work is by
plugging it in after my computer has booted up and logged
in.

I have heard, but still researching, that some USB
devices don't have the ability to boot up.

This happens with any USB drive, optical mouse, adsl
modem, webacam...whatever. None of them work.
