usb slows boot up

Recently bought a quad core machine with vista premium. Hooked up usb
keyboard and mouse. If I hook up anything else to usb, "hub, printer,
external drive," the machine takes up to 3 to 5 minutes to boot.

I've read somewhere that this is a known bug in Vista but can't seem to
verify.

After system boots everything works fine. Any ideas would be appreciated
