If I remove my USB stick memory without stopping through safely remove option
at system tray, will I loose any data or damage my stick memory?

What is the pros and cons of removing through safely remove or not?

Many thanks.

Only if it's operating Policy is set for "Optimize for Performance" or
use of Write behind caching. Safe removal simply dismounts the USB
device - essentially it's plugged in, but XP is done with it.

You can remove it by unplugging it from your computer. But never do that
it in running condition.Shutdown your system and then do it.

All I have ever done is right click on the stick (in explorer) and select
eject.
Have not damaged the stick in over a year. :-)

You're full of shit. Turn off the computer to remove a USB memory stick!
Indeed. Duh!

If done by hurried conditions and no data is being written or read at the
time, should be no problem. See unorthodox setup for usb disk in R.
McCarty's reply which is an exception.
On a day to day usage basis, the removal method should include the removal
selection in the system tray.

Incorrect removal may result in loss of data or damage to the device.
Ensure that all applications that were used to save data onto the device
are closed.

Click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the System Tray. From the pop
up menu, select Safely remove USB Mass Storage Device - Drive(x:).
It is now safe to remove your USB Memory Stick.

One may simply remove the device in turned off condition;without going
through the above steps and without losing any data-by just unplugging
the device (if the device is still attached to the PC).
