Have just rebuilt an old desktop with Xp (from 2000). previous set up had IR USB mouse and keyboard and router plugged in via USB too.

With new setup has a wired mouse, keyboard and wireless USB receiver.

Have been having lots of problems with mouse/keyboard and wireless.

Was wondering if new setup is drawing more power from USB and highlighting that its a bit knackered. Was wondering if getting an internal USB card and usijg these ports instead might remedy the problem?

Have had a quick look on t'internet at PCI USB cards, not sure if PCI is right? How can i tell what sort of card i need? Is there a way by looking at the colour of the slots on motherboard or somehting?

Thanks.

Have you tried all the usb ports ?? Pci slots are usually used for expansion cards and are usually white . Peeps will need to know what the mobo is to give correct help .
