USB ports

My Windows XP system keeps losing the USB ports without
reason. Any idea how to fix this it is making me crazy?

Look in the Device Manager... and ensure you haven't set them to be put into
standby to save power under each USB port.

I am experiencing the same problem with me dell laptop. The problem was
solved for stand alone by installing the Microsoft patch contained at

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...4956-b7fe-e85b688b7f86&DisplayLang=en



This patch did not solve the problem when the laptop is docked. My next step
is to get a powered USB hub for the docking station.



Please post any findings on this problem. I will do the same. As you have
noted. It is quite frustrating to fix intermittent problems.
