usb ports stoped working after home edition to pro update

I just purchased a new laptop with xp home edition. I
updated it to my xp pro and in the process lost my usb
ports. I've tried to reload them from device manager,
nothing works. Anyone have an idea?

Did you get any help with this??? I have a similar problem with a upgrade
from XP Home to XP pro on a desktop.
Any help would be great!!
