USB Pen Drive causes reboot

Whenever I plug in a USB pen drive into my Win 2000
Profesional PC it causes the PC to reboot.
All my drivers are up to date, and have installed all the
latest windows updates including service pack 4.

Can any one help?
 
Is the pen drive Usb 2.0?
Do you have the Usb 2.0 drivers installed.

Both the pen drive and the PC are Usb 2.0, all drivers are
installed.
