Usb or Ffirewire

Hi everyone.
My first time on here and no doubt my last (newbe)
My question is witch is the best connection usb or firewire for mymini DV
camcorder. At the moment i only have a usb connection.
Or should i invest in a ieee 1394 pci host card for my pc.

They are different standards and not compatible.
They is no capture software able to grab raw DV footage via USB
You require a firewire card.
If your Cam has a USB socket, this is usually for transfering pics
from the memory card.
