USB mouse & keyboard legacy question

I'm running XP Home Edition on an Asus P4C800-E deluxe board. The bios is
default for the board. I have USB 2.0 support and no issues with USB
controllers that I'm aware of.
Right now in the CMOS settings, my USB Legacy setting is on (auto). I take
it that XP is determining how this support is being used with this setting?
Question is this;
Right now I'm using both a mouse and keyboard on PS/2 ports. If I install a
mouse and a keyboard that use USB, should I or do I have to, enable Legacy
in the CMOS settings, or is it ok to leave it where it is now on (auto)?
Many thanks
Dudley

If you ever have access the bios with USB keyboard, set to legacy before
making the swap.
