I have winxp home installed by myself in January.
Everything worked great until a couple days ago. I had a
crash. I used the recovery console on the XP CD and got
my system back. However my USB ports are not working and
are not even listed in my Device manager listing. Can
anyone help me?

Do you have a CD that has your mobo drivers? If you don't
or don't even know who made your mobo, get EVEREST from
www.lavalys.com and then when you know, download the mobo
drivers for your particular model.

Links to the mfg'r are displayed by EVEREST, very handy.
