USB Memory Key

I use a 64MB Memory Key to back up files from MS XP. It has worked OK for a
year. Today when I attempted to open the Mem. Key, the , the MY Computer
screen went blank. No way I can access the Mem. Key icon.. If I click on
properties it shows 1MB used and 3MB available on a 64MB Key. No way I can
access the files on the key.

Tried it on another PC?
If it does the same - well - hardware *does* go bad.
