I need some help.
After using my scandisk initially sucessful once, I got a major headache.
I have a new Sandisk 6-1 SDDR086 Read/Writer USB. I tried 2 different 256MB
SD Cards in this device with the same results, which were when I try to drag
files into the device, I get the "Do you want to Format your Drive?". I
answered yes, and it attempts to format, but at the end, it says "Windows was
unable to complete the Format". Then I close the window and another window
pops up, "This drive cannot be formatted." These are new SD Cards.
I'm using Windows XP Home with SP1. I have read under Sandisk to try to
disable Legacy Drive. I tried that with no results.
Also, I tried uploading my image files in my Mapsend Topo program and
another message says "Not Inserted" for the SD Device.
When I look in Devive Manager it shows it is present and working properly,
yet it doesn't want to format or be recognized my Mapsend Topo. Windows
Explorer shows it's there also. I even tried System restore 2 days previous
to my problems.

Please help!

Have you checked the manufacturers website to see if there are any updated
drives for the mass storag device?

Yes I did. Sandisk says Windows XP is the default program for the driver. Any
other ideas???

Try it on a different machine. (work, friend, local shop). You
may just have a broken piece of hardware.
good luck
