USB Keyboard and Mouse do not work after hibernate

I have recently bought and installed the MS Wireless Optical Desktop Elite USB Keyboard & Mouse.
I am having a problem after going into hibernation the Keyboard & Mouse are not recognised and cannot be used. I have to unplu & plug the USB connection before the devices spring back into life.
I would be grateful if anyone can provide me with a solution to this annoying problem.

My product was brand new also.
The problem I had was sometimes on boot up I had no mouse, this was cured by
unpluging then repluging usb transmitter.
I tested all manor of things, but it was cured by replacing usb transmitter
You could check yr mobo/system sites for any driver updates, there may be
something there, also MS for driver updates for their mouse/transmitter
*not* any other hardware driver updates.
