USB Hub

I have a USB 2 powered 4 port hub (it says so on the box!). When I connect
any device to it I get a message box that pops up as says that the device
would work faster if it was plugged into a USB 2 port. The hub is connected
to a USB 2 port on my desktop. Does anyone know why I'm getting that
message?
I have Windows XP SP 2.
Thanks
Tony

First thing to do is to double check that the port that it is plugged into is actually 2. Take the
device you are using and plug directly into the computer and check to see if you get the popup. If
you don't then you have verified that port is actually 2. Check all the ports that you can. If
they are all 2 then it sounds like a problem with the hub. Check the hub for any stickers that
indicate what it is , then check the manufacturers site for support. If all else fails take back to
where you bought it and get an exchange or refund.
