USB Hub Drivers

Lee Love

I installed a USB hub. The installation CD worked fine
when I first put it in. But I accidently deleted the
driver trying to install an ISDN TA. Now, the
installation CD doesn't work and the computer doesn't
recognize the Hub. At one time, the computer did
recognize the hub, but instead of calling up the Driver
CD, I think it installed a generic Windows driver.

I'm working with a Japanese version of home XP, so
it complicates things for me.

Thanks,

If Windows installed a generic driver, does it work? If so, don't worry
about the CD.

So, No, it doesn't work. If it worked, I wouldn't be
asking for help.

My apologies.

Have you tried un-installing all drivers and re-installing? After
un-installing, restart XP and see if Windows installs any drivers. If so,
check the hardware works and again, if so, leave it like that. If not, try
the CD again. Also, when you say the CD doesn't work, do you mean the
drivers won't install or some other error?

Maybe just doing a System Restore to before you deleted the Wrong Stuff
would be your best bet now.
