USB Hard Drive Formatting?

D

DaveH

Thanks in advance.

I have an external USB enclosure with an unformatted/unpartitioned 200 gig
hard drive. Strange but XP's Disk Management will not allow me to format.
I could temporarily put the drive in another box and format it but I suspect
there is an easier way.

Any suggestions?

If you want to format as fat32 (so the drive can be used on all Microsoft
operating systems) you need a program Such as Partition Magic. This will
allow you to format the complete drive as fat32.

If you do it from within Windows (using the native system capabilities) you
can only create/format a 32 gig partition.
