USB Flash dive not visible

I asked foer help on this before, but unfortunately the advice did not help.
For some reason my USB flash drives are not showing in Windows Explorer.
They are detected and installed every time I plug them in but I can not see
them or their contents in Explorer.
I have used 'Disk Management' and given the drive a letter, but the drive
still doesn't show up and on returning to Disk Management I find the drive
letter has disappeared.
I have used System Restore, but that hasn't helped.
Any help would be appreciated.
 
Don't know if this has snything to do with it, but I recently had a problem
with Daemon Tools messing up my drives.
