My USB 1Gbyte Memory does not show up on my computer but it shows under
device manager but without a letter assigned to it. when i try to change the
drive letter it changes but it still wont show up. when i try to explor or
open the disk from the device manager it opens (sometimes after many tries)
but agian without a drive letter. when i try to unplug it from the unplug
icon on the status bar i see that windows has assign the letter D for it
(even after i changed the drive letter). I had a hard disk before with the
drive letter D but it does not exist on the computer any more as i removed
it. i am an advance user so dont hesitate in giving any info regarding this
problem and i hope there is a solution for it. i tried another flash disks
but the same problem exist with all. thanx for helping in advance.
note that i already tried to uninstall the drivers of all the USB Hubs on my
computer.

If you are still having trouble, try opening the command prompt (start, run,
and type cmd) and type subst [the drive letter of the usb] [a new drive
letter]. So if the usb drive letter was D, just pick a new unused drive
letter, lets say K then you would type:

subst D:\ K:\

If this works, you could make a batch file of it and set it in the autoexec
file (that will only work if it is plugged in when you turn your computer on)
or you could just set it on the desktop and run it from there when you plug
in your USB drive. If this doesn't work, you might want to check for driver
updates for both the usb ports and the devices, both of which can be done
with a simple right click on the device in the device manager window.

letters and did not work again . regarding the drivers i have the latest
