USB external hard drive problems

Hi ... I have a external hard drive that I use for
security reasons , Any ways when ever I plug this drive
into any usb ports , I always have in the Devise Manager
area a yellow exclaimation point under the Universal
Serial Bus controllers area , it say with a yellow mark "
USB Mass Storage Device " I have to uninstall this and
then rescan for any new hardware , at this point it will
find the new hardware and install it , Is there a way to
correct this problem ??? Thanks

Its Me Again

Hi again . Forgot to mention it's a Windows xp pro full
retail version with SP2 , All the Windows updates are
done .. Thanks !
