USB devices issues

Hi All,
A few weeks ago, my Dell computer began to show a strange behaviour when
using external USB devices.
Some of them work as always, other (mainly new, never attached devices)
always ask for a driver ... even though no special driver should be usually
needed.
I already tried to check registry and nothing solved the issue.
Please, help !!!
