usb devices and 64 bit vista?

Hi, I'm researching whether my hw would support 64 bit vista.

specifically I'm wondering about usb devices. Keychains, usb hubs,
headsets.

Eek, I haven't even thought about my creative audio card.

Does anybody know if these things are supported already? Or is the
answer generally "No unless specifically indicated."

Maybe I should ask the question differently:

Do USB devices require signed drivers on 64 bit vista?

Yes.

My Logitech camera works fine on XP.
It doesn't work on Vista 64.
Logitech says buy a new camera as they aren't
writing 64 bit drivers for old hardware.

what usb items can I assume need to have specific drivers and what
items can I assume have generic drivers. I'm thinking about :

1. external usb hard drives
2. mouse/keyboard
3. mp3 players with usb port
4. digital cameras
5. wm5 pda (using active sync)

also, wondering about sata hard drives? Can I assume these will work
out of the box?

1. My external Ultra hard drive case works fine via USB and Firewire.
My Sandisk thumb drives also work.
2. I expect keyboard and mouse will work. I still use PS2 connections.
You may need to enable legacy mode in the BIOS.
3. I don't own an mp3 player.
4. My Nikon SLR digital camera works fine.
5. I'm nowhere near ready to try my Palm TX.

If you have an Intel motherboard, SATA drives should work.
Mine did. You may have to install drivers at the F6 prompt
during installation of Vista for other chip sets or if you are
planning to use RAID.
