usb connection

I have 3 usb ports and one doesn't work with any devices except a snake light which lights up. I have reinstalled service pack 4 and I have uninstalled and installed the drivers. I have a intel 82801 CA/CAM usb universal host controller. I recently recovered my drives also.

Any ideals how to get the usb port working again asit is in the front of my laptop r505 series.
