usb cdrom doesn't unmount after eject

Just installed an IBM BladeCenter.. its shared floppy and cdrom media tray
is recognized as USB devices. When I put a CD in, it reads it just fine..
when I eject it, the OS never recognizes that the disc is no longer there.
I can continue to browse the directory tree, and when I put a new disc in,
it still thinks the old one is there.

I've upgraded the server's BIOS to the latest version, and have been unable
to find any alternative drivers to try. Any thoughts on this?

Even after putting a new disc in, it still thinks the old one is
there..that
is, I am still presented with the directory tree from the old disc.

Are you "ejecting" via software(r-click, eject), or just hitting the
button on the front?
