re: Belkin F8T003uk v2 - Bluetooth USB Adapter. XP Pro SP2.

Hi - after installing XP sp2 my Bluetooth device no longer functions, its
broke !
Anybody got same prob or solution?

Microsoft solution don't work.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=883258&product=windowsxpsp2
They suggest deleting reg keys etc., makes no difference.

Belkin solution don't work.
They say it's Microsoft's fault. They say uninstall sp2
or remove the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator from Bluetooth Radio Devices
That has no effect and the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator re-appears on next
boot.

Any ideas. please

Hi,

seems your post is already a while ago and hence I am not sure whether this
advice comes still in time or whether you brought another product already...

Anyways, it can be made work, but first let me tell that the Belkin support
staff is a bunch of lazy ass buttheads, who do not give a damn about their
customers, except to sell their products for the sake of revenue,
shareholder's value and whatever. Unfortunately that seems to be a trend with
all major vendors, be it soft- or hardware. I told Belkin already in March
this year, i.e. whilst beta testing SP2, about that issue but they would not
do a thing. Alright, enough of flaming.

You should first stop and disable the WiNXP own bt service - called
Bluetooth Support Service. That would prevent it from infering with the
Widdcom stack installed by Belkin. But do not stop the service called
Bluetooth Service as this is the Belkin stack. You can deinstall or disable
the MS Bluetooth Enumerator, althoug that does not matter. WinXP installs
also a signed driver for the Belkin device, called Belkin Bluetooth Adapter,
which though does not work either. You have to manually choose the driver
provided by Belkin, although not carrying a signature, but then making the
whole thing working again.

Cheers
