When you plug in your removable storage device you get
the pop-up "HI-SPEED USB Device Plugged into non-HI-SPEED
USB Hub" and this message keeps reappearing even after
closing the pop up.

It's telling you that your USB 2.0 device will not give you full speed when
plugged into a USB 1.1 port, basically a hardware mismatch!

You can purchase a USB 2.0 PCI card for $40-50. Plug the device into one of
those ports.

More like $30 now. Available at Wal-mart, Circuit City, Best Buy, etc,.

Sorry to piggyback on this thread, but I am in a simialr situation.
Does your answer mean that a USB 2.0 printer will still work in a USB
1.1 port, but at the USB 1.1 speed?

Thanks, Gary

It should be backward compatible. The specs are. Then there is that warning
