usb 2.0 hub functioning at 1.1 speed

Having a dual boot machine, if I boot to 2000 the USB hub
will function at 2.0 speeds. Booting to XP causes the
machine to spawn the message that a high speed device has
been plugged into a non-high-speed hub. The BIOS has
been flashed to no avail. Any suggestions?

Yes, yes it is.

Look in device manager. What does the entry for the hub state? If it doesn't
read 'enhanced', you need to visit the website of your board manufacturer
(or the system manufacturer's site) and download an updated chipset driver.

Install sp1 or sp1a (this is a must) THEN install the 2.0 drivers that came
with it or download updated ones. Microsoft usb2.0 drivers are minimal.
Installing sp1 does not mean you now have usb 2.0, you just have the
capability of having 2.0. Microsoft support has an index of links to
hardware updates if you an't find any. Device manager will show 1.x hubs ,
then the hosts, and then will show the enhanced 2.0 controller.
