USB 2.0 and XP SP1

I am getting the message "Hi-speed device plugged into a
non Hi-Speed USB port" when I turn on my Epson scanner.
I have been running Service Pack 1 for XP from the
beginning (last 6 months) with no problems until now. Do
I need to re-install SP1?

Assuming you're sure that your ports are 2.0, look in the device manager -
are the ports marked 'standard' or 'enhanced'? If the former, visit your
system or board manufacturer's site and download an updated chipset driver.

If you have had no problems until now. You will have to
troubleshoot the system to find out if it is hardware or software.
Go from there.
