Urls from within Outlook 2007 or Windows Mail don't work...

Hi,
I'm on Vista Home Premium 32-bit - back after a break from it - and I think
I finally got my drivers right this time, because Vista is running very
smoothly for the most part. I also upgraded my graphics card to an ATI X1650
Radeon 512 mb (formally an Nvidia GeForce 7300 LE 256 mb).

My problem, though, is that when I click on a web Url in an email in Outlook
2007 or even from within Windows Mail, I get no web page or anything. It's
like the link is dead.

This may be just a configuation issue about Outlook or Windows Mail, but it
didn't start happening until I recently upgraded to Vista.

I appreciate any assistance... Many Thanks, Frank

Hi Frank--

I first checked Slipstick a well known site for Outlook information, for
its list of knownissues with OL 07 and didn't see yours:

http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/known_issues.htm

I haven't seen an MSKB specific to OL 2007, but I have seen one with what I
think is your problem, and also people had similar problems with Vista
during the Beta--so take a look at these two links:

A new mail message window does not open when you click a mailto link on a
Web page in Outlook

Control Panel | Default Programs
Make sure Internet Explorer has all its defaults.

Thanks Chad and Frank. Frank, your suggestion nailed it and fixed my
problem. IE had only 4 out of 9 defaults, so I reset it.

Thanks to you both! Frank
